Andrew Tomlinson
Andrew Tomlinson is a founder and Operations Director of ctm. Having met Matt Cannon at Peterhouse, Cambridge they both saw the need for an IT consultancy and implementation house providing a fully comprehensive service to SMEs.
Andrew's focus on Software Engineering towards the end of his course and his inherent ability to analyse and understand even the most complicated problems has stood him in good stead to achieve this. He has applied these skills to business consulting and subsequent systems architecture roles to great effect.
Throughout his career in IT, including a stint at IBM, he has been fascinated by security and, more recently, identity. As a topical subject, Andrew spends a large proportion of his time researching the available technologies and the wider reaching issues including government policy and the social implications of electronic identity.
Andrew is the UK representative on the OpenID Europe Foundation and a contributor to the ongoing development of OpenID.
In his spare time, he can be found attempting to be inexpert in as many martial arts as possible and is also partial to the occasional pint of real ale. He finds a way to make most days an occasion!
